John ClancyVice President, Residential Crestron Electronics, Inc

As head of the global residential business unit for Crestron Electronics, John Clancy is responsible for the sales, marketing strategy, dealer initiatives, end user programs, and product and software development for homes, hospitality, and luxury yachting.

Prior to joining Crestron, Clancy spent 22 years in various positions at Audio Command Systems, Inc. (ACS), one of the industry’s largest residential integrators. He started as a senior programmer and worked his way up to executive vice president and chief technology officer during his tenure. At ACS, Clancy mastered control system programming and developed the software into a repeatable solution that was then implemented in projects all over the world.

With almost 30-years’ experience in the residential AV and smart home channel, and one of only thirty-eight Crestron Gold Level Master Programmers worldwide, Clancy brings the perspective of the integrator to the manufacturing side of the business. His unique understanding of what the channel needs and what end-users want continues to drive Crestron’s product development and leadership position in bringing connected solutions for entertainment, smart lighting, shading, comfort, security, communications, and more to the residential market.

In December 2015, John Clancy was elected to the CEDIA Board of Directors. He also serves on the CTA Smart Home Board of Directors and the Home Technology Association Board of Advisors.

Clancy also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
