The Virginia Tech Center for Design Research will unveil the innovative future of kitchen design and construction on the KBISNeXt Stage. The kitchen is part of the FutureHAUS research project that explores manufacturing strategies and the greater integration of technology with architecture or, in other words, the industrialized production of smart homes.

Providing technology answers to design community needs! The Tech Bar will be a casual, lounge atmosphere located in South Hall where subject matter experts interact one-on-one and/or in small groups to tackle the hottest tech topics in the kitchen and bath industry. The lounge will also provide charging stations so attendees can rest, talk tech and get fully charged in between sessions.

State of the Industry Address

Kevin Murphy, COO of Ferguson Enterprises, will deliver the 2015 State of the Industry Address.The topic of his address – Embrace Change: Fear Status Quo – will focus on how the industry is evolving.

Early in 2013, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) announced an agreement to co-locate the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) with the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, Nevada beginning in February 2014 under the banner of “Design and Construction Week.” The mega-event will be held Jan. 20-22, 2015, in Las Vegas with each show occupying a separate hall. Kitchen and bath brands that have participated in both shows can choose to exhibit in the KBIS or IBS hall. One pass will provide access to both exhibits. NKBA and NAHB will continue to produce separate educational programming and special events.
