Chicago, IL – As rounded forms continue to shape modern kitchens, baths, and interiors, Designs of Distinction® introduces Design without Edges: Rounded Forms for Modern Living, a design-led initiative highlighting architectural components developed to support today’s shift away from sharp, rectilinear design.
Influenced by the curved geometry of Art Deco design and reinterpreted through modern European cabinetry, rounded edges and radiused forms are redefining how contemporary spaces look and feel. Designers are increasingly specifying softened profiles to create interiors that feel warmer, more inviting, and thoughtfully composed.
To support this movement, Designs of Distinction® introduces two complementary components at KBIS Booth W173: Radius Corner Moldings (The Vertical Transition), and Radiused Bases (The Horizontal Foundation).
Made in the USA from high-quality MDF, these Radius Corner Moldings feature softly curved lines designed to transition sharp cabinet and furniture edges into smooth, architectural forms. Supplied unfinished, the moldings are ready to be painted or veneered to suit a wide range of design aesthetics, from Art Deco revivals to soft modern minimalism.
Radiused Bases provide visual weight and grounding for curved cabinetry, islands, and furniture applications. Available in stock & custom sizes, these bases can be specified with or without toe kick space—allowing designers to create freestanding “furniture-style” vanities or integrated architectural millwork with equal ease.
“Design without Edges” reflects a broader shift in modern design—one that prioritizes softness, proportion, and livability. By pairing historical inspiration with modern manufacturing, the collection gives designers the tools to specify rounded forms with confidence.
Experience the shift toward softer, organic interiors firsthand. We invite you to see the new components and materials that are part of the Design without Edges: Rounded Forms for Modern Living campaign at KBIS Booth W173 and discover how Art Deco influence meets modern versatility.
