Effe started business in 1987, under the name Effegibi, manufacturing Finnish saunas. As it grew, so did its groundbreaking idea of bringing the sauna, traditionally a product for collective public use, into the private domain.
The company’s research into quality and style culminated in a revolutionary new concept: saunas become ‘furniture’ in the true sense of the word, with a compact size and contemporary design that blend effortlessly into any room in the house.
Its Hammam Project, the perfect complement to its sauna collections, elevated the company to the status of global leader in the wellness sector. Its respect for ancient practices that harness the beneficial effects of heat and water, its cutting-edge technologies and easy installation are the strong points of its products, which are developed with Italian designers – Giovanna Talocci and Rodolfo Dordoni, then Marco Fagioli – and manufactured at its facilities which lie between Emilia Romagna and the Marche.
In 2018, Effe added a mini pool and whirlpool tub to its extensive portfolio of saunas, Hammams and combined systems. In April 2019 the company celebrated a new chapter in its history, taking quality to the next level on a journey spanning 30 years which had revolutionised the sector with its products. It decided to rebrand, changing its name to Effe and merging tradition and new visions of the future in a clear and recognisable style, developing complete and customised perfect wellness solutions.
In 2022, Effe launched its first outdoor sauna, adopting a modular structure that makes it easy to install – even in the most inaccessible spaces, like terraces or gardens. Effe’s latest research focuses on the ‘therapeutic’ potential of heat to treat chronic inflammation. It partnered with Swiss-based The AntiInflammaging Company (A-I) to develop and launch the My Effe app, with content and personalised advice on how to reduce low-grade chronic inflammation (LGCI)
