KBIS NeXT Stage Favorite, DesignBites Celebrates 5th Anniversary

New for 2020, popular KBIS NeXT Stage event to recognize brands with the ‘biggest bite’ in the kitchen and bath industry; plus a special ‘where are they now’ retrospective

(Alpharetta, Ga.) – October 17, 2019 – Which brand has the “biggest bite” in the kitchen and bath industry? The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) is where to find out. Now in its fifth year, DesignBites is the high-energy KBIS NeXT Stage program that showcases unique product innovations and designs. Design Bites 2020 is now open for submissions.

Celebrity interior designer and lifestyle expert, Kelli Ellis, returns to host this show favorite often referred to as a “speed dating for brands”. Ten exhibitors, large or small, get the opportunity to share their message in a refreshing, entertaining way. Each brand has three-minutes to present one of their most innovative products. Each presentation is followed by a two-minute Q&A.

New “Biggest Bite” Award

New for 2020, DesignBites has created the “Biggest Bite” Award, recognizing the brand that has the best combination of presentation, product and innovation. The KBIS DesignBites team will select a judging panel from the audience to recognize the best presenting brand. The winner will receive a product feature in KBB Magazine and on KBIS Instagram, Twitter and Facebook feeds, as well as a plaque to place in their booth and a picnic basket of KBIS “survival” goodies to celebrate with their team.

Complimentary Prosecco Bar – Chase Bank, Sponsor

While the participating brands “bring the bite”, attendees can enjoy some bubbly compliments of Chase Bank, the sponsor of the DesignBites Prosecco Bar. During the presentations, all attendees can enjoy a lunchtime glass of sparkling Italian wine while learning about some of the industry’s newest products.

Where Are They Now

Since becoming a KBIS mainstay in 2016, more than 50 brands have participated in DesignBites. For some, this event was the springboard to new business opportunities. So where are they now?

KBIS is inviting Dave Hall, formerly CEO of Glideware Storage Systems and currently, Regional Account Manager, Rev-A-Shelf, back to the stage to share how KBIS and DesignBites influenced the Glideware brand.

Other brands who have participated in previous DesignBites also have an opportunity to be a part of this fifth anniversary event. A special contest on social media is currently happening within the KBIS communities to select one alumni brand they would to see back on the KBIS NeXT stage. The winner of the contest will become the 11th participating brand at the show.

DesignBites Application

To participate in DesignBites, brands must be a KBIS exhibitor and apply for consideration. A judging panel of industry influencers will review all applications and select participants based on product innovation and uniqueness, quality of application, suitability for the 3-minute format, and design interest. Exhibiting brands can apply now through November 1, 2019 by completing the DesignBites Application.

Selected DesignBites participants are promoted pre-show via KBIS social platforms, a press release, and brand announcements; and during the show via live social coverage, including Facebook Live and Instagram Stories. After the show, all participating brands receive an edited video of their stage presentations, in-depth social coverage and promoted videos on the KBIS YouTube channel.

DesignBites participants also receive access to the media attendee list (names only) and distribution of press kit/information to attending media immediately following the stage session.
