These systems allow woodworkers to build versatile furniture with multi-purposes that convert into space saving solutions. A peninsula table and bench hide neatly behind drawer fronts in your kitchen, while a bookshelf becomes a work station in seconds.
Richelieu’s line of extendible work surface solutions includes the NAXO, CHEO and T-ABLE mechanisms. These systems are comprised of heavy-duty slides that are pulled-out manually. The tops can be made from any panel or board material to either match or contrast exiting counter tops. Some systems include a centre leg for additional support.
Use these extended peninsula tables as lunch counters, for receptions or as an extra prep area. When you are done, just fold the top back and slide back under the counter into a space that would normally house a drawer. A hinged drawer front can hide the mechanism and keep the space looking neat and streamlined.
The OPLA-TOP is an extendible countertop that becomes flush with your existing countertop when pull-out, effectively creating more counter space!
In addition, Richelieu offers a pull-out bench. Set lower to the ground and includes a leg for support, T-BENCH can hold up to 220lb of weight. This is great for small living spaces where furniture must work hard to ensure comfort and convenience.
In contrast, the innovative SLIDE table mechanism is installed over the top of a kitchen island creating an elevated surface that slides diagonally to extend the surface creating more space for additional seating, a serving area or bar for up to four people.
The ECLIPSE mechanism is used to rotate a surface horizontally to create an additional perpendicular work surface you can then stow away when not in use. This incredibly versatile space saving solution can help create extra work spaces in the kitchen as an extra counter for cutting or serving, in a craft room for painting or sewing or as an afterschool play and lunch counter where children can eat or do homework.
