Supporting Organizations for Design & Construction Week Announced

Sep 30, 2013

On February 4-6, 2014, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders’ Show (IBS) will converge under the banner of Design & Construction Week. With over 1,500 exhibitors showcasing new, innovative products and designs, enhanced educational content and a multitude of events, Design & Construction Week is shaping up to be a mega-event. In response, organizations are stepping up to express their official support, further solidifying the growing strength of residential design and construction.

“The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) is proud to be one of the founding associations for Design & Construction Week,” said John Morgan, President, NKBA. “Our partnership with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) to form Design & Construction Week was in an effort to achieve a number of objectives. One of the most important was to provide our combined audiences with a platform-event to make lasting connections that will make a difference at home. To see so many organizations come forward to show their support is incredibly encouraging.”

The residential design and construction industry is built by a vast network of professionals. Architects, designers, builders, remodelers, manufacturers, distributors, dealers and their respective organizations all provide a variety of vital services and products. These different groups intersect with and depend on each other.

“We think Design and Construction Week presents a great opportunity for all players in the housing industry to come together, learn from each other and address common concerns,” said NAHB Chairman Rick Judson, a home builder from Charlotte, N.C. “It’s great that twenty leading associations have signed on already.”

The committed supporting organizations showcase a range of providers of education, advocacy and awareness for the residential design and construction industry. This is the first time these organizations and associations have joined together in such force to promote this key industry segment.

“This is good for everyone,” said Bill Darcy, CEO, NKBA. “At the end of the day, these organizations, NKBA included, exist to support the industries we serve. The more organizations that demonstrate mutual support for Design & Construction Week, the better it is for all.”

The founding organizations for Design & Construction Week, and its producers, welcome the support from the following industry organizations.
