Oatey Co. Introduces QuickDrain BenchDrain, an Innovative, Sleek Linear Drain Built Right into a Shower Bench
BenchDrain delivers the concealed, elegant design of QuickDrain’s award-winning WallDrain, with simplified installation and convenience.
CLEVELAND, FEBRUARY 07, 2024 — Oatey Co., a leading manufacturer in the plumbing industry since 1916, will introduce the newest product in its QuickDrain line, BenchDrain, at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas later this month. BenchDrain linear drains are built directly into QuickDrain’s proprietary bench seat, which is built with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) panels that are made of 100% recycled plastic bottles. The result is a concealed, luxurious look within an accessible, state-of-the-art shower footprint.
For years, designers, contractors and homeowners alike have sought out QuickDrain’s sophisticated WallDrain – which is built directly into the shower wall – for its unique and sleek aesthetic. With the introduction of BenchDrain, installers can achieve the same, barely-there drain experience without furring out the wall; instead, BenchDrain comes with everything you need to build a tiled bench seat and install the linear drain directly into it. Nearly any solid surface tile can be installed in the drain’s magnetic tile-in cover, completing BenchDrain’s elegant, concealed look.
BenchDrain is a perfect solution for universal designs; the shower bench itself accommodates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for height and depth and exceeds the ADA weight guideline.
The bench is also sustainably built from 2-inch rigid PET panels, made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. The water-resistant PET panels come ready to assemble and can be trimmed on-site for a custom fit – no mechanical fasteners or anchors are required.
Available in four configurations, BenchDrain accommodates shower openings ranging from 26 to 72 inches. To ensure a perfectly precise installation from one vertical surface to the next, BenchDrain comes with trough extensions and a tile-in drain cover, both of which can be trimmed on-site after the drain body is positioned.
Vertical or side waste outlets are also available, providing flexibility to avoid obstructions, structural constraints or chipping into concrete at the point of installation. BenchDrain kits come with everything installers need to install the shower bench and linear drain. They just select the topical liquid waterproofing and the tile of choice.
