Award-winning startup Oasense is displaying its revolutionary Reva Showerhead at the KBIS 2023 taking place from January 31 to February 2. The product’s unique features are explained in Oasense’s booth.

Oasense is a Mountain View, California technology startup who are reimagining the landscape of eco-showerheads. Motivated by California drought conditions, the founders of Oasense wanted to raise the current expectations of water-saving showers and how they serve their users. Their ambition was to preserve what people love the most about their shower: full pressure high flow rate rinsing, enjoyable water temperature and ease of use, while also saving 50% of the water normally used in a typical shower. Oasense CEO, Chih-Wei Tang says: “When we set out to create Reva a few years back, our thought was that showering had been neglected for way too long. ​​That’s why we set out to establish a new way to shower, one that used technology to prioritize the shower experience, but also pioneered an elegant solution for water saving.”

This shower technology stands out from its competitors thanks to its unique built-in technology with advanced sensor solution and hydro-turbine generator. Oasense’s technology anticipates the users’ needs and adjusts the water flow automatically to know when to give full pressure rinsing and when to save water. As soon as the showerhead is activated by the water, it measures the water temperature multiple times per second. Reva fits the temperature data into a statistical model to check if the water temperature is close to a thermal equilibrium state or a typical shower temperature before it shuts off the extra flow like a showerhead with an automatic thermostatic shower valve.

In addition, its precise sensing is powered by its proprietary sensor fusion technology that packs in an array of custom infrared sensors and has a supplementary sensor to allow it to detect clearly in all conditions. During each shower, the machine learning algorithm automatically calibrates itself for each user, to provide a highly reliable sensing performance.

Finally, the Oasense Reva has unlimited power thanks to its high-performance microturbine, which means that users never have to charge it. Its built-in power electronics system was developed with the lowest possible power consumption, achieving 10x more power output than any other equivalent system in the market.
