NKBA TO KICK OFF “K+B INSIDER” INFLUENCER PROGRAM AT KBIS 2016

Jan 12, 2016

Comprised of influencers and tastemakers from the design and building industries, the new group will present the much-anticipated 2016 NKBA Design Trend Report at KBIS on January 19

As KBIS marks debuts of new products and trends from across the kitchen and bath industry, this year’s show also marks an exciting reveal for The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA): The 2016 NKBA K+B Insiders. These outstanding professionals, consisting of both up-and-coming and established influencers from the design and building industries, will present NKBA’s 2016 Design Trend Report in a panel hosted at a press conference on Tuesday, January 19 at 2:30p at Room N240 in the Press Registration Room of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The NKBA K+B Insiders will also share their insights and expertise with industry professionals and consumers throughout 2016, representing NKBA at various industry tradeshows and events, and also via the NKBA Connect Blog where they will serve as guest bloggers discussing both industry trends and best business practices.

“2016 will be quite a transformative one for NKBA,” says NKBA CEO Bill Darcy. “In addition to better serving our 14,000 member companies and tens of thousands of members, we aim to be an Association that becomes a more valuable resource for all industry professionals and consumers, as well. We look forward to sharing more at KBIS, and are thrilled to have the 2016 K+B Insiders be a part of the new NKBA.”

The 2016 NKBA K+B Insiders (pictured above):

Patricia started her career in the K&B industry in 1985 and soon opened her own design studio, specializing in residential and commercial interior design, remodels, lighting design, universal design and custom furniture. In 2010 she took her work national and launched an online network of design services including PDBhomestore.com, ProfessionalKitchenandBathPlans.com and her design blog, DigThisDesign.net. Her award-winning projects have been featured in leading national and regional magazines, as well as top trade publications.

An Australia native and award-winning Master Builder, Karl’s residential and commercial masterpieces have earned him well-deserved notoriety in the building industry in both the USA and Australia. Karl also frequently appears on DIY Network and HGTV, most recently winning “Ellen’s Design Challenge” on HGTV with Ellen DeGeneres that reached the highest ratings HGTV have experienced. Karl is also a radio host, home inspector, author, philanthropist and environmental building consultant.

Paloma Contreras is a lauded interior decorator, tastemaker, and award-winning design blogger. She launched her widely read blog, La Dolce Vita in 2007 and her interior design business soon followed. Paloma’s effortless, modern-meets-traditional style has been featured in multiple national publications, including the New York Times, ELLE Décor and Domino. She has also been named a “Next Wave” interior designer by House Beautiful, as well as one of “10 New Design Talents to Watch” by LUXE Interiors+Design. Paloma strives to create comfortable, luxurious spaces reflective of her clients’ tastes and lifestyles.

Brian Patrick Flynn is an interior designer, production designer and set decorator based in Atlanta, Ga. He designs residential properties for private clients as well as sets for television networks, ad campaigns and major online retailers. Currently, Brian can be seen both behind the scenes and in front of the camera as the designer for two high-end home giveaway series on HGTV: HGTV Dream Home, and HGTV Urban Oasis.

After studying English at Smith College and earning a law degree from Fordham Law School, Young pursued further education and an internship in interior design and discovered her true calling for interior design. Armed with practical experience and a lifelong love of art, she founded her firm in 2007. Along with her creative instincts, Young says her legal training has reinforced a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an ability to see every transaction from different angles. She works on projects across the country and abroad, inspiring a global point of view in her work. Fluent in a wide range of styles from historic to contemporary, Young’s interiors reflect her love of art and artisans, materials and textures, resulting in spaces that are timeless, combining classic proportions with eclectic, chic styling.

Graduates of the New York School of Interior Design, Alberto and Mercedes own and operate design firm Villalobos Desio and antiques boutique ETOS, both in New York City. Their aesthetic is rooted in an eclectic combination of their diverse cultural backgrounds, travels and education (Alberto originating from Colombia, and Mercedes from Italy) that integrates their unique viewpoints to maximize their creativity. Villalobos Desio has been commissioned to design homes in the U.S. and Europe for a discerning group of international clientele, known for mixing new pieces, antiques, and contemporary art from around the globe—all telling a story that complements the backgrounds of their clients.
