The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) has announced the release of the newly updated second editions of its authoritative Kitchen Planning and Bath Planning textbooks, first published in 2006.
Available in both print and e-book formats, the second editions have been thoroughly revised with the latest information on topics such as sustainable and universal design, as well as metric measurement equivalents throughout for the benefit of professionals in Canada and elsewhere. In addition, the volumes have been redesigned with all new photographs and illustrations in full color.
The releases come as the NKBA celebrates its 50th Anniversary of Leadership through Learning.
“For a half a century, the NKBA has stayed true to its mission of educating the leading professionals in the industry,” says John Morgan, 2013 NKBA President. “Our new Kitchen Planning and Bath Planning books, each almost 500 pages, represent current best practices based on the latest industry research.”
Kitchen Planning and Bath Planning serve as essential references for seasoned professionals as well as students, containing everything they need to know to design convenient, functional and efficient kitchens and baths that meet the needs of today’s lifestyles. Along with the other volumes in the Association’s Professional Resource Library, they are the basis for certification.
Special features of the new editions include:
New and expanded information on universal design and sustainable design
The 2012 edition of the NKBA Planning Guidelines with Access Standards and up-to-date applications of the 2012 International Residential Code®
New information about storage, cabinet construction, and specifying cabinets
Metric measurement equivalents throughout
A companion website with forms and teaching resources for instructors
Reviewed by an Association panel of experts, the books were written by four leading industry authorities: Kathleen Parrott, Ph.D., CKE; Julia Beamish, Ph.D., CKE; JoAnn Emmel, Ph.D.; and Mary Jo Peterson, CKD, CBD, CAPS, CAASH.
