Preparation for KBIS 2015 is underway, and brands are grabbing hold of trends that are shaping the design community and creating innovative products that are sure to draw attention from consumers who are looking to remodel. A growing number of consumers are expected to buy new rather than used cabinet hardware, according to The Research Institute for Cooking & Kitchen Intelligence. Kitchen and bath hardware trends are shifting their focus from highly-decorative pieces to simplicity in style; straight lines and edges are becoming more and more appealing to the consumer. Hardware manufacturers committed to exhibiting at KBIS 2015 including Atlas Homeware, Berenson Hardware, Emtek, and Top Knobs are expanding their collections.
“Simple lines and not as much frou-frou,” said one NKBA designer in the NKBA 2014 Kitchen and Bath Style Report on the topic of what consumers want to see in their kitchens this year. Consumers want kitchens that are “more about good storage and space planning.” The NKBA expects to see an increase in demand for minimalist design that also provides the consumer with universal design amenities and easy-to-use features.
Berenson Hardware has recently introduced the sophisticated new Meadow collection. With subtle, refined lines, the Meadow collection’s transitional style is sleek yet warm. The Meadow collection offers larger pull sizes which allow more flexibility in design and application. The pulls are available in Berenson’s two most popular finishes: Brushed Nickel and Verona Bronze.
Top Knobs has just launched the Europa series within the Mercer Collection. The Collection is designed to allow cabinetry to stand out. Although the hand polished hardware is striking, it does not diminish the beauty of the cabinetry. Rather, the cabinet and hardware complement each other. The hardware’s finishes include Brushed Satin Nickel and Polished Chrome which both have been expected to grow in popularity this year, according to the NKBA 2014 Kitchen and Bath Style Report.
Atlas Homewares shows off their modern edge with the release of their new Ultra Euro Collection designed to make a statement for kitchen cabinetry. The NKBA 2014 Kitchen and Bath Style Report predicts that whites will make a color splash this year; the matte chrome Ultra Euro pulls pair perfectly with white painted cabinets.
Emtek has launched their LISCIO collection which debuts their LISCIO Electronic Keypad Leverset with Bluetooth Programming. Contemporary elegance meets easy maintenance design. The sleek door handle can be connected to your smart phone to ensure that you are never locked out again. The LISCIO is equipped with discreet buttons on the lever and, when connected to the free downloadable app, can store up to 20 different user codes!
Nickel and chrome are dominating hardware finishes as demand for sleek and simple elegance grows. See the latest in hardware design at KBIS 2015 January 20-22 in Las Vegas.
