Scott Jensen, Director of Design at James Martin has always been at the height of trendsetting. He can foresee Industry trends, features and products that will be movers and shakers in the upcoming years. He says the largest areas of growth continue to be in transitional and modern styles rather than a hard-contemporary look. The trend is leaning towards more cleaner and softer lines. Rectilinear cabinets continue to grow in popularity. There is almost a spartan presentation with very clean lines taking the place of carving and detail work. Just a few of the new 2018 Collections include:

De Soto
This Series falls perfectly into that description as it checks all boxes for vanity options and feature requests in the last few years. It is considered “Updated Traditional” with a low maintenance full plinth base behind a rounded bracket foot. It is the perfect cross between 18th-19th century English and American Traditional. Crafted from North American Birch hardwoods and veneers and available is three beautiful finishes, a stark Bright White, elegant Silver Gray, both new for 2018, and a rich Burnished Mahogany. This collection will certainly appeal to Homebuilders and Remodelers as it is the most versatile collection yet with new and premium features.

The De Soto has maximum storage and versatility with many widths and configurations:  30″, 48″ 60″S, 60″ D, 72″ – it is modular and has an optional 26″ makeup counter which allows multiple cabinets to be connected. Choose between all top options: Marble, Granite, Quartz or Solid Surface.

Other bells & whistles include built-in electrical components and standard top-row Faux Shagreen drawer organizer, new premium drawer construction with boxes made from solid White Poplar, with thicker sides (15mm, up from the standard 13mm plywood). The De Soto also comes with removable side base molding, so cabinets may be placed directly against the wall.

Brisbane – Modern Campaign
Brisbane was designed to lend a modern flair to the traditional Campaign style cabinets. Hints of the Directoire style are present in the reeded front doors and drawers, and the tapered legs present a clean profile. Cabinets are crafted from North American Birch and Walnut Hardwoods with charming Glass Front Doors. Interior space is ample, with three row drawers concealed behind the unique sliding top row drawers and shelves behind the lower sliding doors. The Brisbane comes standard with an electrical and USB outlet. Offered in a generously sized 72” width. Three finish colors: Bright White, Silver Gray and Warm Espresso and your choice of Marble, Granite, Quartz or Solid Surface top.

Cairns and Canberra – Round and Round
These cabinets were designed as a response to clients’ requests for softer silhouettes. These rounded cabinets and coordinating tops present a striking profile. These cabinets are crafted from North American Birch hardwood solids and walnut veneers. There is plenty of storage with three drawers, including and double-height bottom drawer. The drawers feature our signature brushed aluminum finish laminate bottoms.

Offered in space saving 24 1/2” width. Cairns is offered in two finish colors: Empire Gray and Warm Espresso. Canberra (Deco made Modern) is offered in Empire Linen and Warm Espresso – Both Cabinets offer your choice of top: 3cm White Carrara Marble, Artic Fall Solid Surface or Snow White Quartz.

Palisades – Shaker style is making a comeback
Palisades has a recognizable, historic design, but the clean lines fit today’s unique interiors. Palisades was designed to lend a modern flair to traditional Shaker style cabinets. Hallmarks of Shaker style are simple panel doors and gracefully tapered legs. These cabinets also have softly arched base valences. Crafted from North American Birch solids and veneers. Palisades includes ample storage space, with premium features including an electrical and USB outlet located in a custom designed shelf behind the right-hand door and a Bamboo drawer organizer. Offered in six widths and configurations: from a petite 30” cabinet, up to a generous 72” width – Two finish colors:   Bright White and Silver Gray

Last Fall, James Martin announced the expansion of their highly successful ADA Compliant Vanity collections. For 2018, they are adding to the versatility of these vanities by offering smooth countertops with no sink or faucet cut-outs in 3 top options with 48″ and 60″ width options. This enables customers to convert the ADA vanities into Make-Up vanities. –  Brilliant…….
