The Appalachian, which, like its namesake – the mountain range stretching across the eastern seaboard – makes a statement with a strong, straight rising flange. The Biltmore, named for an historic mountain home and resort area, has a split lower flange, allowing for woodwork to show through. The Breckenridge, dubbed after a quaint mountain town in Colorado, has a small decorative cut-out on the lower flange. Finally, the Nevada, named after the Sierra-Nevada mountain range bordering California and Nevada, has two holes in which homeowners can insert a decorative aspect, such as forged iron clavos, which are an add-on accessory available from Federal Brace.
