(Chicago, IL): Designs of Distinction® [DOD] is excited to announce the debut of their new Mullion Collection at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in February 2025. This collection will feature laser-cut Mullions made from a variety of luxurious materials including brass, carbon steel, hardwoods, and MDF, offering designers and architects unparalleled versatility for high-end custom kitchen designs.
The new Mullion Collection draws inspiration from a range of design aesthetics—from Art Deco and Art Nouveau to Mid-Century modern—creating a bold yet timeless look that enhances the beauty of any space. Whether you are crafting intricate cabinet doors or architectural accents, these Mullions offer both form and function. Their scalable profiles are perfect for bespoke designs, with the ability to customize each piece to meet specific project needs.
“Designs of Distinction® continues to push the boundaries of innovation with our latest Mullion Collection,” said Kathy Constantine, Vice President at DOD. “With laser precision, we’ve transformed a variety of metals and woods into stunning Mullions that not only elevate the aesthetic appeal of luxury kitchens but also provide the flexibility to fit any design vision.”
Materials and Customization to Meet Every Need
The Mullions will be available in several material options to cater to different design preferences:
• Clear-coated brass for a sleek, modern look
• Black and white powder-coated carbon steel for contemporary sophistication
• MDF with paint for customizable finishes
• Hardwoods, available unfinished or with a clear coat for a natural, elegant touch
Custom colors will also be offered through powder coating or electroplating, allowing for even more design possibilities. These Mullions can be used either behind glass or as decorative onlays, and are available with or without mounting holes for fasteners, depending on the desired application.

Designs of Distinction® will also introduce a new Design Catalog for the Mullion Collection at KBIS 2025. This catalog will showcase a wide range of styles and configurations, making it easier than ever for designers to find the perfect Mullion profile for their projects.
