COSENTINO TO OPEN SECOND MAJOR HUB AND DISTRIBUTION CENTER

Jun 12, 2013

HAMPTON, VA (June 2013) — Cosentino, the global leader in natural stone, quartz, and recycled surfacing, will open a new major US HUB in Hampton, Virginia next month. The Cosentino Northeast HUB will become the second central logistics and receiving facility for Cosentino, which manufacturers Silestone natural quartz, ECO by Cosentino recycled surfacing, Sensa granite, Prexury semi-precious stones, natural stone and the soon-to-be launched Dekton by Cosentino architectural surface.

Located at 2301 Aluminum Avenue, Cosentino’s Hampton HUB will have more than 160,000 square feet of warehouse and office space and serve as a central location to receive all Cosentino brands manufactured in Spain for customers along the East Coast. The facility will catalog and store the products, expediting distribution to regional Cosentino Centers, home improvement centers, fabricators, and kitchen and bath specialty stores to meet the growing demand from customers along the East Coast. The Hampton HUB represents a significant investment in both infrastructure and inventory. Cosentino invested $3 million in the construction of the new HUB and $10 million in inventory. The new HUB brings 10 new jobs to the area, with an anticipated growth of 15 to 20 percent annually.

“Cosentino’s Northeast HUB is located in close proximity to the port, making it an ideal location to receive shipments from Spain – where all of the Cosentino brands are manufactured,” said Lorenzo Marquez, VP of Marketing for Cosentino North America. “This second HUB will complement our Houston logistics HUB, allowing for Cosentino to expedite shipments for the growing residential and commercial needs along the entire East Coast, as well as supplying the eight Cosentino Centers in the region.”

The development of the Northeast HUB has been in partnership with the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance working with the City of Hampton’s Department of Economic Development, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Virginia Port Authority and the Peninsula Council for Workforce Development.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Cosentino to Hampton Roads,” said HREDA Chairman Bob Boyd. “They are a great addition to our growing international business community in the region and the City of Hampton.”

In 2011, Cosentino opened its first North American logistical HUB in the Port of Houston to increase its commercial capacity and availability, reaching customers more efficiently across the vast U.S. market.

The addition of the Northeast Distribution HUB is a critical part of the company’s larger strategic growth plan to amplify its presence in the U.S. market over the next few years with increased availability and distribution of its products. Both facilities are meeting the growing demand in the American market for both commercial and residential projects.
