American Electronic Bidet Seat Market Expects to Skyrocket in 2019 with Higher Demand for Smarter Homes
San Francisco, CA – December 6, 2018
In the last century, Americans witnessed a wave of smart home tech solutions transforming the way they interact with and relate to their living spaces. From comprehensive home security systems to integrated voice command speakers like Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home, the market for home tech appliances and domestic automation ballooned to nearly $25 billion in 2016 and is expected to more than double to $53 billion by 2022 – and the next frontier is shaping up to be the American bathroom, specifically the toilet.
In recent months, it seems everyone from Bill Gates to Conan O’Brien have been investigating smarter solutions to the one practice we all find ourselves engaged in every day. High-tech bidet seats with features like heated seats, warm air dryers, and warm water washes are gaining popularity by the day. According to Steve Scheer, president of leading bidet manufacturer Brondell, the trend is gaining momentum and is expected to hike in 2019.
“We’ve seen sustained year-over-year growth rates in excess of 20% for the past 5 years with these products,” says Scheer. “As the technology improves, the appeal increases and clientele base broadens with more and more specific needs and customer demographics being covered. I think we’ve really nailed it with our Swash 1400 model. People seem to really love it.”
Brondell’s Swash 1400 incorporates an array of luxuries from a built-in deodorizer to adjustable spray widths and temps, even a cool blue nightlight that illuminates the toilet bowl. In terms of high-tech toilet seats tailored for the American smart home, this is the type of product gearheads and health enthusiast alike are demanding in growing numbers. In fact, Brondell recently sold out of its Swash 1400 model in the rush of 2018’s holiday gift-giving season. Obviously, they’ve since replenished inventory and are adapting to the demand inherent to the business of a real blue-chip bathroom industry player with bigger orders and a huge new HQ in their hometown of San Francisco. Fortune favors the bold.
