BlueStar® is inviting professional kitchen designers, architects, interior designers, builders and remodelers to submit outstanding kitchen designs for the chance to win the title of BlueStar® Kitchen Designer of the Year
BlueStar®, a leading manufacturer of high performance appliances for the home, announces its first ever Kitchen Design Competition to honor design professionals who incorporate BlueStar products into innovative, beautiful kitchen designs.
One Grand Prize winner will receive BlueStar® appliances for their home kitchen, the title BlueStar® Kitchen Designer of the Year, plus a trip to New York City for the 2016 Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Six Regional Winners also will be named.
“With our distinctive combination of restaurant-grade performance and unrivaled customization options, including 750+ colors and finishes, BlueStar offers trade professionals truly unique options for clients looking to create custom kitchens,” says BlueStar Vice President of Marketing Eliza Sheffield.
Handcrafted in Reading, Pennsylvania since 1880, BlueStar commercial gas ovens for the home are designed for discerning home chefs who demand restaurant-quality results in their own kitchens. Endless configurations are available for ranges, cooktops and wall ovens, including 25,000 BTU burners, 130-degree gentle simmer burners, French Tops, griddles and even a commercial grade salamander. BlueStar also offers an unparalleled 750 colors and finishes, providing a new level of customization options for discerning design professionals. Virtually any custom color also is possible.
A panel of judges, led by celebrated interior designer Eric Cohler, will determine the winning entry. Cohler is known for a mix of classical and contemporary styles—enhanced by jolts of unexpected color and pattern. Apparent in Cohler’s work is a keen sense of history; he holds a Masters Degree in Historic Preservation from the Columbia University School of Architecture and a certificate in design from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
When asked about why focus on kitchen design, Cohler explains: “It’s the heart of the home, traditionally the gathering place. I like a space where you can cook, work, play games and really just live. I think it should be the most welcoming room in the house that reflects your own unique personality.”
The competition is open for entries through January 31, 2016. Winner will be announced no later the March 1st, 2016. Entering is free and easy. The kitchen design entry can be any style kitchen. A minimum of one BlueStar® appliance as the primary cooking appliance is required. Ranges, rangetops, ovens, and cooktops meet this requirement. Official rules and entry criteria can be found at https://bluestarcooking.com/buzz/design-contest.
