Surface innovator hires two, promotes one
Laminate surface innovator ATI Decorative Laminates announces several position changes at their North Carolina headquarters.
“Our steady growth within the private label and architecture and design markets spurred the expansion of our infrastructure,” says President Tara Burgio. “Vern Combrink’s promotion, with the addition of Charles Matthews and Jeannette Luc, make us better prepared to serve our domestic and international customers.”
Vern Combrink has been promoted to vice president of sales, responsible for direction and management of sales and business development for both foreign and domestic markets. In addition to sales, he manages the company’s customer service department and works directly with key domestic accounts. Combrink was ATI’s export sales director from 2010 to 2013. During his three-year tenure, he increased export sales by 100 percent while expanding distribution in more than 50 countries.
In the wake of Combrink’s promotion, ATI hires Charles Matthews as export sales director. Matthews will oversee all international sales and operations, including international marketing, customer service and logistics. Before joining ATI, Matthews spent 25 years in international sales management for Carolina Biological Supply, where he was responsible for four business units with an annual revenue in excess of $50 million.
A graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s in marketing and management, he completed MBA coursework at the Kenan Flagler School of Business at UNC Chapel Hill. He is Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
Jeannette Luc joins the ATI team in the role corporate talent officer, managing the design and implementation of human resource programs and processes. A trained psychologist, Luc brings a broad range of experience in psychology, management and human resources to the company. Most recently, she spent six years as vice president of human resources for AMT, a Michigan-based software company.
Luc received her bachelor’s in counseling psychology from Ohio State University, and graduated with a master’s in clinical psychology from Augusta College. She is certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources by the HR Certification Institute.
