Mailbox Leader Becomes First Company to Introduce The “Next Generation Mailbox” Meeting the Latest United States Postal Service Specifications with an Emphasis on Parcels

America’s leading mailbox innovator will make history at the 2016 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) by debuting the country’s first mailbox to incorporate the new, larger United States Postal Service measurements for rural mailboxes https://www.architecturalmailboxes.com.  These groundbreaking next-generation mailboxes will be available for viewing  on January 19-21st, 2016 at KBIS Booth S6074.

The Backstory:   For the first time since its invention, the residential mailbox is getting a much needed facelift.  Originally standardized in 1916, for the last 100 years, Americans have become accustomed to one traditional size – 18”d x by 6 ¼”w x 7 ½”h .  As consumer purchasing has shifted online, the United States Postal Service finds itself delivering more and larger parcels than ever before. In response, in August 2015, the United States Postal Service formally expanded its mailbox guidelines to include a second, larger mailbox design with optimized dimensions of approximately 14”d x 16.5w ” x 12”h”.

Bigger really is better. Combining high-quality workmanship, fashion-forward finishes and aesthetic designs that bolster curb appeal, mailboxes will no longer be viewed as solely a utility item. For the first time ever, the new and improved parcel-friendly mailboxes will be capable of holding multiple parcels, padded envelopes, catalogs, magazines, and of course, letters.

“We are extremely excited to be the first company in America to unveil the next iteration in mailboxes.  Having worked in the industry for over 25 years, we’ve seen the public’s mailing and shipping needs dramatically change.  Our new next generation mailboxes are going to enable mail carriers to do their jobs more effectively while allowing consumers to better get their mailing needs met. It’s a win-win for everyone,” says Architectural Mailboxes CEO Vanessa Troyer.
