Cosentino Leads State of Industry Address and Presents New Products at KBIS 2014

Jan 8, 2014

Cosentino, the family-owned world leader in quartz, natural stone, and architectural surfaces, announces an exciting line up of distinguished honors, new product introductions, and in-booth activities taking place during KBIS 2014 in Las Vegas.

On February 5, Francisco “Paco” Martinez-Cosentino, President of the Cosentino Group, will deliver the annual State of the Industry Address. This address will discuss Cosentino’s role as a global leader, and will present key factors that businesses should consider for success and growth – including research and innovation, marketing, and a strong commitment to the ongoing development of employees. What’s more, the 2014 Address will be the first-ever presented in Spanish with simultaneous translation, emphasizing Cosentino’s global perspective, while also celebrating the multi-cultural environment of the industry.

One of the highlights of Cosentino’s booth will be the newly launched Dekton by Cosentino – an innovative ultra-compact surface capable of seamless use both indoors and outdoors. By utilizing Particle Sintering Technology, a proprietary technique that mimics the metamorphic change that rocks and stone undergo in nature when subjected to heat and pressure over thousands of years, Dekton has unique technical properties, including UV and thermal shock resistance, superior strength, high resistance to impact, scratches and abrasion, and low water absorption. Produced in large format slabs, measuring approximately 126 inches x 56 inches, Dekton allows for large-scale interior and exterior applications. Dekton is available in 12 white, grey, black, and natural stone hues and in three polished, matte, and slate finishes.

In addition, Cosentino will showcase Silestone Nebula Code and Ocean, the two most recent color expansions to the natural quartz line. Nebula Code, an evolution of the popular Silestone Nebula series, is composed of five neutral hues that are subtle yet distinctive, inspired by the appearance of natural stone, and feature an original pattern of brilliantly colored veining throughout the surface that never repeats. Ocean, the most exotic Silestone color series available, features six colors with bold patterns and a wide range of movement, offering a natural aesthetic similar to that of exotic granite. Silestone will also be expanding their Integrity Sink offerings, with a new 8”-deep model, which is a direct response to North American market needs. Constructed of one piece of 100% Silestone quartz, the seamless design integrates perfectly with the countertop providing unprecedented uniformity for any kitchen. These seamless properties reduce weak areas or joints and provide all the benefits of Silestone, which is naturally non-porous and never needs to be sealed, offers high scratch, stain and heat resistance, and contains built-in antimicrobial protection.

“Cosentino is thrilled to play such a leading role at KBIS this year and support the inaugural Design & Construction Week,” said Lorenzo Marquez, VP of Marketing for Cosentino North America. “We’re looking forward to Paco’s inspiring presentation on the current state of the industry, while also showcasing the continued evolution and innovation of our existing leading brands with a number of new products on display. In particular, the launch of Dekton makes 2014 a headline year for our business, and KBIS is the perfect venue to kick things off.”

The Cosentino booth will also feature a live, working kitchen, with on-site cooking demonstrations by Chef Chakall, an internationally recognized, vibrant, chef with global influences. Chakall has a long-standing relationship with Cosentino, and has entertained crowds around the world with his exciting demonstrations and deft culinary skills. The fully functioning kitchen is a collaboration between Cosentino, Harmony Cabinetry and Blanco fixtures.

Additional activity on-site at KBIS includes in-booth CEUs with state-of-the-art visualization technology from 20/20 Technologies.
