SUMMARY:Designing for the Invisible Client: Creating Kitchens and Bath that Adapt Through Life&#8217\;s Changes
DESCRIPTION:When designers ask clients "Who will be using this space?"\, the answer is often a simple one. But the truth is\, kitchens and bathrooms often serve far more people than the homeowners who sign the contract. An aging parent recovering from a surgery\, a teenager grandchild with learning to bake\, a dog who eats and sleeps in the kitchen\, or a future homebuyer who may someday live in the home. This presentation challenges designers to move beyond the aesthetics and explore the idea that kitchen and baths designs need to support a user as they adapt to life's many changes.
